The bible class

Yesterday I got my personal invitation to a bible class. At work break I went to a Wurlitzer at the nearby university for a vegan granola bar. Given the lateness of the hour, the hallway was already deserted. After getting my candies and turning round, I noticed a boy and a girl were standing next to me. Both looked very anxious. Both looked sad to me, like someone has sucked all joy out of them. The boy suddenly gave me a flyer. One of about 300 small flyers he was tightly holding in his hands. I did not look at what was written on it, I just said thank you. I think I saw them smiling for a moment of time. They tried to communicate, but they were foreigner in this country and to me. I am not a religious person. At least thats what I think. Therefore, I decided not to join the bible class.

Why am I..

a vegan? Many people ask me, why are you a vegan? My answer to this question is always: I do not think animals are objects. It’s as simple as that. I think animals differ a lot from cars and dishwashers, at least that’s what I have been observing since early childhood. I can not think of any moral justification to enslave or to abuse sentient creatures. Noone has the right to inflict pain for no better justification than it tastes good.
