I am psycho

A scientific typology test has caught my attention. Companies often rely on assessment tests such as the Myers-Briggs Type Indicator or the Keirsey Temperament Sorter to form working groups. Although not knowing it, I would also expect that matchmaking agencies based on scientific research use similar tests.

The test is free and neither a registration nor personal data are required. It can be found here (http://www.humanmetrics.com/cgi-win/JTypes2.asp). I answered all 72 questions.

According to the Jung Typology Test, I am classified as INTJ:

moderately expressed introvert
moderately expressed intuitive personality
moderately expressed thinking personality
slightly expressed judging personality

They further describe this personality in detail. Here are just some interesting phrases:
– “To outsiders, INTJs may appear to project an aura of “definiteness”, of self-confidence. This self-confidence, sometimes mistaken for simple arrogance by the less decisive, is actually of a very specific rather than a general nature; its source lies in the specialized knowledge systems that most INTJs start building at an early age. When it comes to their own areas of expertise – and INTJs can have several – they will be able to tell you almost immediately whether or not they can help you, and if so, how.” I think some people may call me dogmatic.
– “INTJs are perfectionists, with a seemingly endless capacity for improving upon anything that takes their interest.” Hm… O.o!
– “Typical INTJ career choices are in the sciences and engineering, but they can be found wherever a combination of intellect and incisiveness are required.” Natural-born scientist. O.o
– “Personal relationships, particularly romantic ones, can be the INTJ’s Achilles heel. While they are capable of caring deeply for others, and are willing to spend a great deal of time and effort on a relationship, the knowledge and self-confidence that make them so successful in other areas can suddenly abandon or mislead them in interpersonal situations.” Somehow sad. 🙁
The full description can be found here (http://typelogic.com/intj.html).
Interestingly, I have voluntarily done a similar assessment test at the DLR about year ago, which yielded very similar results.

A very informative article about INTJs exists at Wikipedia (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/INTJ). They state that INTJs are one of the rarest personality types accounting for about 1–4% of the population. Concerning the personality, they cite Sandra Krebs Hirsch: “INTJs are strong individualists who seek new angles or novel ways of looking at things. They enjoy coming to new understandings. They tend to be insightful and mentally quick; however, this mental quickness may not always be outwardly apparent to others since they keep a great deal to themselves. They are very determined people who trust their vision of the possibilities, regardless of what others think. They may even be considered the most independent of all of the sixteen personality types. INTJs are at their best in quietly and firmly developing their ideas, theories, and principles.” They also conclude that: “In forming relationships, INTJs tend to seek out others with similar character traits and ideologies. As the most independent of all types, INTJs trust their intuition when choosing friends and mates – even in spite of contradictory evidence or pressure from others. INTJs seem cold, reserved, and unresponsive, while in fact they are almost hypersensitive to signals of rejection from those they care for.” o.O As stated above, the full article can be red at Wikipedia.

Meine Lieblingsband

Meine Lieblingsband letztens in Berlin! <3

Time is never time at all
You can never ever leave without leaving a piece of youth
And our lives are forever changed
We will never be the same
The more you change the less you feel
Believe, believe in me, believe
That life can change, that you’re not stuck in vain
We’re not the same, we’re different tonight
Tonight, so bright
Tonight
And you know you’re never sure
But you’re sure you could be right
If you held yourself up to the light
And the embers never fade in your city by the lake
The place where you were born
Believe, believe in me, believe
In the resolute urgency of now
And if you believe there’s not a chance tonight
Tonight, so bright
Tonight
We’ll crucify the insincere tonight
We’ll make things right, we’ll feel it all tonight
We’ll find a way to offer up the night tonight
The indescribable moments of your life tonight
The impossible is possible tonight
Believe in me as I believe in you, tonight

I hate awards

I really hate awards. Every community has their awards. It is like the rich donate the rich. I love my works, most time it is fun to do physics and I do not see why my work should be superior, when compared to the work of others. However, I got a nomination for the Raymond and Beverly Sackler Prize.
They wrote: “[…] On behalf of Prof. Amiel Sternberg and Prof. Shimon Yankielowicz, the prize coordinators, it gives me pleasure to inform you about the nomination for the 2012 Raymond and Beverly Sackler Prize in the Physical Sciences, Physics.
The research field is entitled: Observational or theoretical achievements in the study of extra-solar planets. The prize is intended for young scientists and the age limit is 40 (nominee’s birth date must be after March 15, 1971). The prize will be awarded in June 2012 during Tel Aviv University’s Board of Governors meeting. […]”
Yes, I do some research in the field of extra-solar planets, but I do not expected to win this award. Nevertheless, the winner will receive $100.000, which is enough to fund one to two PhD students of my working group.

I hope you’re feeling happy now
I see you feel no pain at all it seems
I wonder what you’re doing now
I wonder if you think of me at all
do you still play the same moves now
or are those special moods for someone else
I hope you’re feeling happy now

Just because you feel goooood
it doesn’t make you right
oh no
just because you feel goooood
still want you here
tonight
